SUP in Zakynhtos - ZanteFitness Retreats - Gravity

SUP LESSON

Stand-up paddle surfing and stand-up paddle boarding (SUP) is an offshoot of surfing that originated in Hawaii. Unlike traditional surfing, where the rider sits until a wave comes, stand-up paddle boarders stand on their boards and use a paddle to propel themselves through the water.

Variations include flat water paddling for outdoor recreation, fitness, or sightseeing; racing on lakes, large rivers, and canals; surfing on ocean waves; paddling in river rapids (whitewater SUP); paddle board yoga; and even fishing.

Sup is a very fun way to explore the beautiful island coast and exercise. On the paddle board you have to find balance and use all your mussels to stay up the result is a very strong functional training & a low or hight cardio exercise.

There is a mental exercise as well, because you have to leave your fear, connect your body-mind and control your movements. According to the Ancient Greek philosophers, this helps you have a perfect outside and inside version of yourself.

A lesson lasts 90 minutes and includes:

Stretching out of water
Basic water safety rules
How to get up and balance
Basic rowing techniques
Small fun tour

Yoga on the paddle board is a unique experience that every Yogi should try! You will follow gently movements, different techniques and you will connect with the elements of water and air during your meditation. The fresh sea breeze will help you to breath deeply and full your body with oxygen, the sound of the sea will help you to relax and connect with your inner self!

SUP YOGA

Yoga on the paddle board is a unique experience that every Yogi should try! You will follow gently movements, different techniques and you will connect with the elements of water and air during your meditation. The fresh sea breeze will help you to breath deeply and full your body with oxygen, the sound of the sea will help you to relax and connect with your inner self!

SUP PILATES

Pilates on the paddle board is a strong and fun aquatic activity to try! On the sup you can do most of  the pilates exercises as you normaly do on your matt. Enjoy a full pilates session under the warm sun, connect with the element of water, feel the sea breeze on your body and complete your session with a relaxing meditation!

SUPTOWN TOUR

A guided Sup tour at our base the beautiful coast of Zakynthos town! Explore the Krioneri beach & the town harbour, stop to places of interest that you can see archaeological constructions & natural beauty.

SUPFARI TOUR

A guided “wildlife” sup tour to explore nature and hopefully see some turtles
